National Comprehensive Cancer Network® (NCCN®) Distress Thermometer® 

establishes a program metric which reflects the activity and performance of the patient navigator at definite milestones throughout continuum-of-care of the patient navigator practice and provides operational benchmarking.

  

Oncology Nurse Navigator Patient Assessment (ONNPA)

The ONNPA© is a newly developed tool tailored for the needs of oncology nurse navigators (ONNs). The ONNPA© facilitates holistic and comprehensive identification of patient needs and barriers to cancer care. It offers a standardized approach for novice and expert navigators to assessing newly diagnosed cancer patients.

  • Create job descriptions and competencies for lay/clinical navigators 
  • Identify training opportunities for existing supportive care staff 
  • Provide a series of training for both lay/clinical navigator   
  • Define role and scope of practice of the lay/clinical navigator
  • Provide a standardized presentation process for breast conference/tumor board
